Thunder Suffer Another Tough Loss
Wheaton travelled to the Leafs Ice Centre to play the second part of a home and home series against NIU. Coming off of a frustrating 8-1 home loss, the Thunder were unable to respond with a bounce-back performance, falling on the road by a score of 12-2. Davis Melin netted two of the three Wheaton goals this weekend, and Isaac Melin had assists on both of the goals in this evening’s game. Ted Townsend had another strong performance tonight, stopping 45 shots, again having many of them being excellent scoring opportunities for the Huskies. The Wheaton Hockey team will be on the road again next week, playing a pair of games against rival RMU in Bensenville. The Thunder will next be in action at home for their final weekend of games, on February 5th and 6th, against Southern Illinois University, the same team that they started the season against.
