The 1987-1988 hockey team experienced some setbacks at the beginning of the year. Many of last year’s players quit or graduated, leaving the team without a goalie or many experienced players. However, with the addition of freshen and first-year players, including a freshman goalie, the team recovered. The players experienced a season of growth under the guidance of their coach, Al Mirza, manager John Chung, and co-captains John Holmberg and Tom Olsen. Many of the upsets were losses of only one or two goals. For this reason, Holmberg did not feel that the overall record did not reflect the team’s ability. The guys are looking forward to next year and another chance to shed some blood and share the Gospel.
